Ocean Riser Systems AS (ORS) was founded in 2002 by people with extensive experience in offshore drilling, rock mechanics and subsea engineering.

The vision driving the company is the notion that it is possible to:

Reduce deepwater drilling costs to levels comparable to shallow water drilling
Increase reservoir recovery from subsea developed fields to levels comparable to fields developed by platforms fixed to the seabed

Based on knowledge, experience and vision, ORS has developed patented technology and
drilling methods that bring managed pressure drilling in the subsea market segment to a whole new level, improving drilling speed, safety and well control.

ORS is head office at Lysaker, outside Oslo, Norway. Our personnel have experience from operators, drilling contractors and from offshore drilling related service companies.

Our mission is to develop and supply MPD technologies and services to the subsea drilling and
well intervention market that will:

improve operational HSE
significantly cut deepwater drilling and completion costs
improve our customer’s revenue

Energy Capital Management, Viking Venture and Aker Capital are the largest shareholders in ORS. The ownership support enables Ocean Riser Systems to deliver on its project commitments, and to invest in product and technology development programs that support the commercialisation of its proprietary technology.
